Brief Biographical Information and Selected Works of Bobby Lynn Shehorn

Bobby Lynn Shehorn is a blues musician who’s worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. A native Texan, Shehorn has followed the serpentine trail of his music career from the Lone Star State to Woodstock and back. Along the way, he’s been honored to collaborate with side musicians for Bob Dylan, James Brown, Van Morrison, and Steely Dan among others. Born and raised just outside of Austin, Texas—a city today celebrated the world over as a music capital, Shehorn was there from the beginning, making a name for himself on the Cosmic Cowboy scene in the 1970s. During that time, tastemakers like Rusty Weir and Jerry Jeff Walker performed Shehorn’s songs. In today’s competitive and ever-evolving music business, Shehorn continues to enjoy a thriving career. His latest CD, Still Called The Blues, features arrangements by blues luminary Paul Butterfield and R&B legend Percy Sledge.

His first book, Pioneer History of Dallas, Texas, is a historical narrative and features fifteen biographical sketches. With fifty years in the music business and ten in research, writing and photography, Bobby launched Texas Tattoo Magazine in 2009.
